How does FairTracing work?

Making and maintaining contacts is more important than ever in these times. All the better if the right digital support is available for this at trade fairs and events.

For your exhibitors, Scan2Lead FairTracing means simple digital capture of trade fair leads and direct enrichment with additional notes, photos and much more. Direct follow-up actions are immediately possible for the exhibiting companies. They can precisely analyse and evaluate their trade fair presence with statistics and evaluations they have prepared themselves. Furthermore, the technology means time and thus cost savings in addition to increased efficiency and success, especially for the sales department of the individual companies. For organisers, however, the FairTracing process offers numerous other technical options. Here we present the features with which the Scan2Lead FairTracing procedure could be enriched if desired.

FairTracing – the options

Optional elements for your trade fair setup

The Scan2Lead FairTracing process offers the option of very precisely tracing the path of a visitor at a trade fair on the basis of the individual touchpoints he or she frequents. After admission control and initial registration, the Scan2Lead app calculates probable time windows with each scanning process, which precisely reconstruct and narrow down the paths and possible contact persons of visitors. For this purpose, it uses the so-called Predicted Dwell Time (PDT). Key influencing variables for it are the size of a stand and the number of respective employees as well as their lead sheet activities. In addition, travel times based on the respective site plan will be included in the future. The PDT operates according to the machine learning principle and is based on millions of lead transactions.

FairTracing can also provide a push-message function for a length of stay at a specific location within the exhibition grounds of more than 15 minutes. Whenever a visitor is scanned by an exhibitor at the stand, a timer starts that measures the length of stay. If a visitor leaves the stand and goes to the next appointment, the re-scan pauses the past timer process and the clock starts counting again.

How does a fair work with FairTracing?

Visitors register with the respective trade fair and agree to the data protection regulations of the event. For the time being, the trade fair company has made the corresponding Scan2Lead app with FairTracing procedures available to exhibitors. Scan2Lead itself provides the infrastructure and service for exhibitors. If the worst comes to the worst and an infection with the Corona virus is detected in a participant during the trade fair, the Scan2Lead FairTracing procedure has several advantages: The competent health authority can quickly obtain the contact person’s data. Corona clusters can thus be quickly and precisely identified and narrowed down. And the number of those who may have to be quarantined is minimised in the long term.

All this encourages visitors to behave responsibly, thereby reducing the risk of infection and helping to quickly identify contacts of the infected person in an emergency.

The FairTracing procedure is based on our more than 15 years of experience as Europe’s market leader with the Scan2Lead app and represents a logical further development of our expertise in Corona times. It is based on the recommendations of the UFI for the safe restart of trade fairs.
